A free, hands-on robotics course for complete beginners
Robotics University is a website that teaches how robots work to people with no engineering background: no calculus, no physics, no programming required. It is a survey course of forty-two short modules in seven parts, from what a robot is and how motors and sensors work to balance, planning, flight and robot learning.
Each module pairs plain-English writing with one curated video and one interactive simulation of a real robot, such as an arm, a four-legged walker or a drone, running in the browser on the MuJoCo physics engine. Rather than a separate program for every lesson, each simulation is assembled from a small shared set of robots and exhibit types, which is what makes forty-two interactive modules feasible. There are no grades or quizzes; learners move on when they choose.
All forty-two modules for the introductory course are written and approved. The home page and site design are completed. This is ready for people to use.
